Update Time

We've been shown 17 times since we went active in August. I see another family has gone missing from the website so now it's at 18. C said Dec was quiet but January has been very active thus far. Dec had 2 births and there's been one this month. She also said there are 2 matches working for January and she's hoping to have several more.

So that sounds pretty good.

I just read The Thirteen Tale and loved it! My bookclub was tonight and we discussed The Rope Walk. It was a slow book to get started but then I found it to be sweet and very descriptively written.

Have you all been reading anything good? There's not much fun to do here with all this snow and ice and cold.

  1. That is a lot of action for being active since August. We were profiled on average once a month. Right now I'm reading Still Alice. It's about a 50 year old woman who is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimers. It's pretty good so far. Another great book that I read is The Girls by Lori Larsens. It made me laugh out loud and cry.

  2. I want to get back to reading...haven't read a book in quite a while, so I hope to get back to checking out book recommendations. I'm going to check out The Thirteen Tale. Thanks:)

17 times is definitely a lot. I don't think we were shown that many times in a full year! It's going to happen for you soon. I can feel it. My fingers are crossed.

  3. I am so far behind in the book department...I am meeting a friend tomorrow and she is going to lend me her Twlight books.

Glad things are picking up thus far in January...sure does help out in the 'hopeful' department!

  4. 17 times is great! That sounds like a good sign to me. As far as reading, I'm a non-fiction junkie so I've been reading "Bobby and Jackie" about RFK and Jackie Kennedy's alleged affair. Pretty juicy :)

  5. I have been reading "Factory Girls" about the girls who leave their small, rural farming towns in China and move to the cities to work in factories. It's very interesting and it's been unsettling to think that the Nikes I wear might have been made by one of the girls whose stories I am reading.
