Ok, I admit it. I've slacked off in the adoption pursuit process. I was really working hard on the birthmother letter and even getting started on the profile book. It was seeming kind of "cart before the horse" ish because we don't know if we're going with an agency, a facilitator, or just doing it independently. But all these paths require a letter and a profile. Maybe it's because I'm afraid of failing, of not writing a true enough good enough letter.
Anyway, I'm going to get back in the game.

Writing the letter is hard, but writing the first and last paragraphs require the most thought and revision, so why not start working on the body first? That way you have a file on the computer titled "dear special people" with something written in it and the cliche is correct, starting is half the battle! Good luck :)
ReplyDeleteSpoken like a true English teacher, Karen! I have most of the letter done but it kind of wanders into/becomes the profile too. I just feel like we are suffering from inaction.
